I have mentioned it in the last post, and now I am glad to tell more about my upcoming workshops in The Netherlands next month.

Here are the details about the workshops:

2days workshop sock-doll & wrapping techniques
Sock-Doll making- 20 July 2013  09.00-16.00 hrs  plus some homework

In this workshop Neta explains and demonstrates the techniques she has developed to metamorphose discarded socks into lively and expressive characters.
Here you can see some of her sockdolls
Materials- discarded socks, stuffing material (best is fabrics leftovers), all other kinds of fabric (also feltleftovers!), own scissors, needle and threads, and share if you like to,

Wrapping Technique- 21 July 2013  10.00-14.30 hrs

A technique Neta has developed in order to create 3D bodies and shapes using discarded textile scarps. This technique enables sculpturing using fabric bands which has been wrapped on the top of each other to create vast variety of unique and unexpected 3d shapes.
You can see some of her work usingthis technique over here
Materials and tools -Fabric bands, could be cut during the workshop from discarded T-Shirts, or left over of textile manufactures, own scissors, needle and threads, and share if you like to.

1 day workshop

 Portrait Embroidery- 22 July 2013  10.00-15.30 hrs

This workshop is dealing with an issue Neta is most curious about and busy with at the last year in her own work. The workshop teaches the process of transforming a portrait (usually self, or of someone we attached to)  into embroidery discusses and deal with  its meanings through the stitches. The workshop  contains  a short presentation of contemporary artists who uses this combination in their work as well.

Some of her work with the portraitembroidery can be seen here

Materials- pencil, carbon paper, cotton fabrics, vilt, embroidery tread, needles.

The workshops will take place at:
atelier Fiberfusing in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. The atelier is located 10km from Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport.
Registration: fiberfusing@gmail.com with address + phonenumber
