Lazy crature in the sun

New socks creature

Lazy one.

Colorful too,

When the sun came out he is taking off his shirt,

and get tan.

He is now listed at my etsy dolls store.

Mr. who am I?

Glad to introduce you Mr. who am I.
He is made out of Winnie the pooh sock (you can still see him on his left leg, and a honey jar on the other one).

There is a pink beetle on his socks shirt which could also be worn like a hoodie (with two yellow ears on it).

Now he is listed at my dolls etsy store.

Crochet construction

It was long days of crocheting, till I got the construction of the armchair. Some parts I had to re-crochet few times till I realized how I should do it. At first I crocheted all the parts, sew them together and stuff afterwards. It turned out as a big mistake. I had to crochet all the four legs twice, since only when I stuffed them I noticed that the crochet hook I used was too large and the stuffing came out of the stitches.
After re crocheting the legs, suddenly the arms turned out to be too small, so I had to re crochet them too.
It all was a bit exhausting, and yet there is much more work to do till someone could use this armchair.

The crochet doll wasn't really bothered by it, she decided to give it a try as it is.

Couple of friends popped in, they didn't even notice the new furniture but were very curios to see what she is busy with.

As time passed by, and conversation went on and on, covering much of the issues were discussed in the studio lately, she had to give up the comfy padding.

Afternoon in the studio

Greenblue, Red-face, Sheep dog and Cats dog, spent some time together this afternoon (the big advantage of being dolls is that they never have to work in the afternoon). Red- face was trying to read his book while Sheep dog was bored and tried to catch some attention. Cats dog didn't pay attention, it was really concentrated in its book.

Sheepdog decided to give it a try too.

Meanwhile Red-face and Greenblue caught their afternoon nap.

While they were napping the dogs got bored by reading so they tried to see whether they can use the book in a different way.

Not much to do with this book, they will try the other one.

Socks couple

Here they are, my new socks couple, the Red-face and Green blue girl!
Today, finally, they have been done. No need to look for socks to create themselves so now they got some time to read the socks books I stitched yesterday.
And now you can get to know them a bit better:

The doll and the mirror

I painted the dolls face features today.

For the first time they noticed the mirror I have on my desk.

Greenblue-face girl took a look too

and a closer look. She wasn't really satisfied, she never thought that this is the doll she would grow up to be.

I convinced her and the Red-face boy to take a nap, I told them they would be surprised tomorrow morning.

What could it be they wondered just before the felt in sleep.

What kind of socks am I?

Crochet, socks, friends

While new crochet friend was been crocheted this week,

her socks friend was getting face.

Here she is with her new face, getting ready for her travel to Belgium next week.

peeling off

No it's not me I don't want to look like this, you can't paint my face that way!

So I just peeled off her skin, now she is going to get new one.
We both will be back soon.

Summer and the dolls making

Sometimes it is so difficult to wake up at mornings, it's became so hot and humid here as it is every summer, we are just longing to September.
Even going to the grocery shop, a two minutes walk becomes such a difficult task, that I think twice if it is really necessary. Unfortunately I do have to go, to tech for example, or to buy brown threads which I got run out with, then when I am back i feel that part of me was just evaporated.

Staying home is better, and now I am making this new socks doll, she will be sent to Belgium at the end of the month to participate in a group exhibition "Suddenly Last Summer" organized by Art27, a Belgian independent art cooperative.
At least my doll would spent few days in a nicer weather.

Socks dolls magnets

New listings at my Etsy and dawanda stores-printed cushions magnets, for refrigerator or working space.
I picked up my favorites photos of my favorite socks dolls couple, printed it on fabric, sew stuffed and added the magnet on the back, they now listed at my store.

Socks dachshund dog

New socks dog - I hardly get to make dolls lately, so it was fun to make this custom order to my brother who ask it for friends who became new parents.
