These cleaning devices can be found almost everywhere in
China, as an ordinary interior or exterior decoration, at homes, offices and
factories, on the street and at public areas, even in the mountains. They might
seem a bit similar, but many of them are one-of-a-kind handmade objects. Brooms
are usually made of local natural materials, such as dry branches and bamboo
stems. Mops seem to be usually made of recycled textiles, with the same bamboo
handle. I found these objects quite interesting, and was curious as to why
they are so visible. In my country, at least, they would be hidden most of
the time.
