Green-haired crochet Munny

During the last few months, a small Munny doll has been waiting on my desk. My friend Irit (who is also in charge of editing my texts here on the blog) asked me to customize it for her.
It took me a few months to figure out what to do with this little plastic creature. Finally, I found myself duplicating the shape of its head using cotton yarn and a crochet hook. I was a bit disappointed that even with this green vinyl creature, I couldn’t find a more original solution than the crochet technique I am so used to, but there was nothing I could think of in order to get over its iconic look and plastic feel.  Several months later, it was finally done: A green-haired creature wearing a raw wool cape with fringed red trim, holding a magic wand with felted flowers.

Love him! He looks so silly and serious at the same time.
