More About The Creatures Herd

There were a few days last week that I just couldn’t keep on with the textile work. It happened when those creatures received their basic shape, and I felt confused about the next step; I was staring at them, and then began to paint this  member:

Afterwards, I began embroidering the facial features and expression, observation the painting has required, made it more clearer for me to understand how it should look. Still, it was a long trial and error process of stitching and unpicking.

I love these so far, keep going! It's amazing the way they look even creepier for the "innocent" medium of their creation - the creature is both comfortably knit and fascinatingly weird.

Thank you so much, You have accurately described issues that bother me in my work, the dialogue between those soft materials and traditional techniques and the expression of my own and the world surrounds.
