The pinks

I had too much black and white lately,
I like to make them in black and white because it let me to concentrate
in the shape and identity of the dolls without being bothering with colors.
Well I will be back to use more colors for my dolls soon.
Meanwhile the pink family required its attention too.

The crochet poet

I finished this crochet man yesterday.
At the beginning of making them when I create the basic shape I am enjoying.It does not required too much concentration and I can do that during watching inspiring soap operas at TV.

when I have to make the details of his garments I become stress, as if had to wear this clothes by myself to very important occasion.
The design that I choose to the garments lead me to understand better the personality.


The most difficult part is embroidery the face.
Sometimes I can unpick it and embroider it two or three time till I fill satisfy.
This time I was lucky to unpick his eyes only once.

the first pair of slippers

I was making few experiments to make handmade shoes. When I designed the dolls shoes, I had to scaled it down and to translate it into pattern form and materials that will suite to the dolls legs and style.
I designed for them the shoes I always wish to. I had some thought to make shoes like that in a human sizes, but I thought it's a bit silly, to turn them up and make them fit and comfortable to human legs.
when Christine request to make her a shoes like the dolls have, it was a good opportunity to examine that. I wrote here before about all the firsts experiments I made.
Last week I finished the firsts models for a slippers, That I like, and feel ready to offer them at my store.

The confused cat

This cat wasn't sure about his being as a cat, he had and yet have many thoughts about who he is , and what does it mean to be a cat.
So many thoughts, so he decided to try how it is to introduce his self
as someone else...........

A walk with my crafty shoes

My shoes were ready to a walk. I made the soles from cork and foamed plastic sheets, which I glued with contact cement and sew with the sewing machine. It became tough enough for walking outside, and flexible enough to sew and turn over.
I embroidered the black characters, cause I feel that something is missing.
I use the shadow of the cloth dogs in a scaled down and 2d that I draw and cut out from the black cotton fabric.

Crochet diary

The new crochet man wanted to know better his new friend.
They are going abroad together tomorrow morning.

The redhead doll and the the lady in the black dress became good frneids.

And the balck cat come to say good bye too.

Yet making the handmade shoes

I cut the soles from crok and foamed plastic sheets.

I glued everything with contact glue. I glued inside insole that I bought at shoemakers supplying shop.

My space is very limited, so my bicycle became useful too.
After I glued them I sew it at the sewing machine.

I had to decide how to finish them,
this is always the most difficult.

I became very confused with the designing part,
I realized that scaling up the doll shoes is force me firstly to use other materials and techniques then I used for the doll shoes.
It also force me to make something else with the design,
cause it wouldn't have the magic of the scaled down shoes.
Since I miss calculate that, I made a lot of experiments till I decided what I want.
Tomorrow I will sew the final pair.

Making handmade shoes

At the last few days I was making shoes. I was thinking that I would like to make accessories to human sizes (not only for the dolls). I didn't know how to began and what to do first since I have few ideas, and the easer way was keep on doing the dolls and wait that for another time.
I was asked by Christine to make her shoes like my cloth dolls wear.

Firstly I made those for trying the pattern,
But I didn't like that I don't have any sole for it and it feel more like a stocking.

Then I thought to use a nylon bags (the same as arbel egger doess)in order to make the soles. I cut a nylon bag at a spiral form so I get long band of nylon which I crocheted in a sole pattern. I like the way it's look like but I thought it's too rough and wouldn't work well with the first shoes I made, so I decided to make a rough crochet slippers.
The upper was made at the same way by bands of blacks cotton fabric.
At the moment I found another solution to the soles of the first shoes,
I will post it soon.

A circus dance

The crochet lady and her pets were resting.

Till a friends arrived to visit.

They asked to see the famous circus dance of the dogs and the cat.

The Redhead doll wanted to try it too.
